PM Manmohan Singh states in parliament that the government was forced to detain Anna Hazare as the latter had not met their terms and conditions. The Lokpal Bill was with the Parliamentary Standing Committee and the Gandhian activist could air his views before them. But Parliament was supreme in making laws and no one was above it in this regard.
